Real Madrid have continued their work to strengthen the academy by closing the signing of Kalifa Camara, a 19-year-old midfielder from Las Rozas.
According to Rodra, via ESPN Deportes, the club has completed the deal for one of the most interesting young talents in the Community of Madrid.
Camara is expected to join the youth setup with the ambition of quickly making an impact. The move fits Real Madrid’s wider strategy at Valdebebas.
The club is not only focused on building a first team capable of dominating Europe, but also on maintaining La Fabrica as one of the most productive academies in football.
Profile-wise, Camara is a defensive midfielder, although he has also featured as a centre-back in the past. At first glance, he brings to mind Aurelien Tchouameni.
Camara is a player who brings balance, ball-winning ability and a physical presence to the midfield he plays in.
His game is more focused on defensive work than attacking creativity, but that is not a weakness.
One of Madrid’s greatest players of the modern generation, Casemiro, made a name for himself by being defensively indomitable.
Real Madrid’s academy needs different profiles, and a disciplined midfielder capable of protecting the back line can be extremely valuable.
His immediate objective will be to settle in the youth team, but the pathway is clear. Strong performances could open the door to Real Madrid Castilla.

For Madrid, these kinds of signings are very smart, as some of them can be developed and sold on for a profit.
Not every academy addition is expected to become a first-team star, but Real Madrid have built a powerful model around developing and exporting talent.
La Fabrica regularly produces players who either help the club directly or create value in the market.
Camara arrives with a chance to grow inside one of the most demanding football environments in Europe.
Kalifa Camara is a name that Madrid fans may want to watch closely. If he develops well and performs in the youth ranks, Mourinho might be tempted to give him a first-team chance, and let’s wait and see how his career progresses.
