Real Madrid, the record winners of the Champions League, will be without Dani Ceballos for the play-off second leg against Benfica. The midfielder sustained a muscle injury in the 1-2 defeat at Osasuna, where he started, and could be sidelined for up to six weeks.
According to Glorioso 1904, Álvaro Arbeloa is also likely to be without Dean Huijsen, who finished the first leg at the Luz with a right calf problem. The 20-year-old centre-back is set to be replaced by Raúl Asencio, available again after serving a ban for a red card on their previous visit to Benfica.
Jude Bellingham remains injured and Rodrygo is suspended, so both stay out of Arbeloa’s plans.
For Benfica, Nuno Félix and João Veloso are ruled out, and Georgiy Sudakov could join them as he deals with lower back pain.
Benfica and Gianluca Prestianni await UEFA’s decision on the investigation into events in the first leg. Even so, José Mourinho does not want to leave the player out for the meeting with the merengues.
Kick-off is at 20:00 on Wednesday, 25 February, at the Bernabéu.
