Real Madrid star Federico Valverde this evening secured his place in something of a surprise club.
As much came courtesy of a wonderful performance, in Real’s La Liga meeting with Osasuna.
Los Blancos, of course, are fresh off taking another significant step towards reclaiming the Spanish top-flight title.
After making the trip to El Sadar for the club’s final outing pre-international break, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops romped to an eventual 4-2 triumph.
It was Vinícius Jr. who again stole the headlines, bagging a brace to take his tally to six goals in his last four appearances.
And yet, as alluded to above, it was another member of Ancelotti’s ranks who managed to secure for himself a place in the history books.
Federico Valverde enjoyed an outing to remember on Saturday afternoon, laying on each of Real Madrid’s 2nd, 3rd and 4th goals, amid a creative masterclass.
And, in the process, he joined an exclusive club, featuring some of Los Blancos’ finest conductors of years gone by.
As revealed by statistician Mister Chip, prior to today, the last four players to notch a trio of assists in the same La Liga game for the capital giants were Luka Modrić, James Rodríguez, Mesut Özil, and Ángel Di María.
The last Uruguayan to manage as much? Luis Suárez.
