Vinicius Jr.’s contract situation has become one of the biggest talking points surrounding Real Madrid, with fresh claims suggesting the club is already considering how their attack could evolve if the Brazilian eventually leaves the Santiago Bernabeu.
Although Real Madrid have projected confidence over reaching an agreement with the Brazilian, negotiations over a new deal remain unresolved.
With Vinicius’ current contract running until June 2027, the lack of progress has inevitably fuelled speculation over what comes next.
According to journalist Carlos Carpio, speaking on Ruben Martin’s YouTube channel, the scenario currently viewed as the most likely is that Vinicius could depart as a free agent in 2027, with Erling Haaland identified as the player capable of leading Real Madrid’s next era.
Despite months of discussions, there is still no agreement between Real Madrid and Vinicius over an extension.
The report states that the two parties continue to differ on several financial aspects of a new contract, including salary expectations and the structure of a potential renewal bonus.

Notably, Real Madrid have maintained one of the strictest wage policies and are reluctant to alter that approach, even for one of the club’s most influential players.
While there is still some optimism in public, it is loosely based on expectation than on tangible progress at the negotiating table.
If Vinicius remains without a new contract, he would be free to negotiate with overseas clubs from January 2027, which would significantly strengthen his position ahead of the final months of his deal.
That possibility raises a difficult question for Real Madrid.
Should negotiations remain at a standstill, the club could eventually face the choice of selling one of its biggest stars before his contract expires or risking the prospect of losing him without receiving a transfer fee.
While uncertainty surrounds Vinicius, Erling Haaland continues to be linked with a future move to the Bernabeu.

According to the report, Real Madrid are already familiar with the financial framework that would be required, including commissions involving the striker’s representatives.
That familiarity has helped keep the Norway international on Real Madrid’s long-term radar.
The suggestion is that, should Vinicius eventually depart, Haaland would become the natural candidate to inherit the role of the club’s marquee attacking figure.
Such a move would also allow Real Madrid to restructure both the squad and the wage bill around a new leading star.
At this stage, however, no indication has emerged that the Spanish giants are actively preparing to trigger that scenario in the immediate future.
