Real Oviedo star taken to hospital after horror head collision vs Getafe | OneFootball

The La Liga meeting between Getafe and Real Oviedo on Saturday was brought to a halt amid hugely concerning scenes during the first-half.

As much came after a clash of heads between a player from each side.

Whilst contesting a duel in the air, Nacho Vidal and Diego Rico collided in nasty fashion.

The former came out much the worse, left bloodied in a daze on the turf at the Estadio Coliseum.

Vidal was quickly tended to by the Oviedo medical staff, as his teammates watched on amid understandable concern for the wellbeing of the defender.

He was from here loaded onto a stretcher, with Mundo Deportivo having confirmed that Vidal was subsequently taken to the hospital.

A further update on the 30-year-old’s wellbeing is expected in short order.

Turning focus back towards Saturday’s fixture itself, Getafe ultimately emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result.
