Real Salt Lake ousted by Club León in Leagues Cup quarterfinal

Real Salt Lake were eliminated from Leagues Cup 2026 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night, dropping a 3-0 result to Club León at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

Los Panzas Verdes opened the scoring courtesy of a slick move in the 21st minute, as Díber Cambindo met Iván Moreno's low cross with a sliding finish in the box.

RSL threatened to equalize throughout the first half but were eventually pegged back in the 66th minute by a Sebastián Vegas header from a corner kick.

Cambindo quickly put the exclamation mark on the victory in the 72nd minute, breaking through the middle and past RSL goalkeeper Rafael Cabral before slotting his second goal of the night into an empty net.

The LIGA MX side now head to the tournament semifinal for the first time, continuing their perfect Leagues Cup 2026 campaign.
