Real Sociedad face more uncertainty than clarity over returning loanees after mixed spells away. According to AS, Jon Pacheco, Javi López, Mikel Goti and Carlos Fernández had contrasting seasons.
Pacheco, 25, joined Alavés last summer and played 25 times. He began as a regular under Coudet, then faded as Quique Sánchez Flores barely used him. He comes back with a deal to 2030.
The defence needs work and Pellegrino Matarazzo has urgent tasks. Aritz Elustondo will not continue and Caleta-Car returns to Lyon when his loan ends. Real conceded 60 goals, the most in the top flight, and another loan for Pacheco looks likely.
Left-back López, 24, returns from Oviedo. Signed from Alavés two seasons ago for six and a half million, he is tied to 2030. After a slow start he finished with 25 appearances and next term will compete with first-choice Sergio Gómez and Aihen Muñoz.
Goti, 23, departed for Córdoba in the winter window. Before Matarazzo arrived he had featured only briefly, then became a regular omission. He played 15 times there but his involvement waned, and a crowded Real midfield leaves him short of minutes.
Fernández, 29, made the strongest case, finding rhythm at Mirandés after injury-hit years. He hit 16 goals in 34 games, among Segunda’s top scorers. Under contract until 2027, his final season will be away from Gipuzkoa, with interest from Las Palmas and Cádiz, where a previous loan was hampered by injuries.
