Real Sociedad have been set on bringing in a striker to replace Umar Sadiq all summer, but with less than 10 days to go in the transfer window, the Nigerian forward is still there, and nobody has arrived.
For some time it looked as if Borja Mayoral would be the player to come in from Getafe, but that move has stalled, and does not look to be moving forward. As per Yon Cuezva on RadioMarca, they are now looking into alternative options.
One of those revealed is Orri Oskarsson of Copenhagen, who has been heavily linked with a number of clubs this summer, including Girona. While he is high up on their shortlist, it appears they are yet to make an offer, or definitively go after him.
The 20-year-old Icelandic striker appears to be highly rated, but has just renewed his deal with the Danish giants, and at his age, will not have an insignificant cost. La Real will likely be active in the final days of the market, with Mikel Merino’s move to Arsenal set to go through, and President Jokin Aperribay admitting they are looking at a centre-back as well as a forward.
