Real Sociedad ranked seventh in LaLiga salary cap, Eibar set at €9m | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have the seventh highest salary cap in LaLiga for 2026/27 at €137.79m. They sit behind Real Madrid (€832m), Barcelona (€582m), Atlético Madrid (€361m), Villarreal (€170m), Real Betis (€143m) and Athletic (€139m).

According to Diario Vasco, LaLiga has published the updated squad cost limits after the summer window. The cap is the maximum spend on first-team players and coaching staff, plus reserves, academy and other sections, with the aim of a fairer competition.

Barcelona, now operating under the 1/1 rule, have risen from €432m in winter to €582m, still short of Madrid’s record €832m, up from €761m. Atlético have increased from €336m to €361m.

In LaLiga Hypermotion, Eibar’s cap is €9.0m, placing them in the mid-lower bracket and far adrift of relegated Girona (€35m) and Mallorca (€34.6m) thanks to parachute payments. LaLiga has set aside €45.7m in relegation aid for Mallorca, Girona and Real Oviedo, including €18.5m for Mallorca.

Eibar’s spending power has fallen by more than 70% in six years, from €30.1m in 2021-22 to €13.2m after the Alcorcón setback, then €11.1m for 2023-24, €10m in 2024-25 and €8.9m last season. Their €9.0m now ranks 11th of 22, behind Sporting (€10.10m) and Burgos (€10.50m), similar to Levante (€8.80m) and Elche (€8.50m). Granada and Tenerife are just over €7m, with Almería bottom on €3.80m and Eldense at €5.50m.
