Early-season sackings are rare in LaLiga, but some clubs pull the trigger quickly. Four matchdays have passed without a dismissal, yet several experienced candidates are already available.
According to Superdeporte, beyond headline names such as Pep Guardiola, the market offers seasoned coaches who know Spain’s top flight.
Ernesto Valverde, 62, is arguably the standout. After a long Athletic Club spell, he is free, with 595 matches and a 1.77 points-per-game record across Barcelona, Athletic and Valencia. Marcelino García Toral has just finished at Villarreal, boasts 479 top-flight games and averages 1.63 points.
Javier Aguirre, 67, is available after leaving the Mexico job. He has 466 LaLiga matches, averaging 1.51 points, across Atlético de Madrid, RCD Espanyol, CA Osasuna and RCD Mallorca. Jagoba Arrasate, without a club since departing Mallorca, has 301 games and a 1.39 average after leads at Osasuna, Real Sociedad and Mallorca.
Rafa Benítez, 66, is free following Panathinaikos, with 221 LaLiga outings from stints that include title-winning Valencia and Real Madrid. Imanol Alguacil has left Al Shabab and is open to offers. His LaLiga work at Real Sociedad brought a Copa del Rey and European qualification, with 258 games at 1.57 points.
Eduardo Coudet, 51, exited Alavés mid last season for River Plate and was dismissed in August. In Spain he has 128 LaLiga matches with a 1.23 average.
