Real Sociedad sign Sonya Keefe as Arturo Ruiz adds firepower | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have announced the signing of Chilean striker Sonya Keefe, adding firepower to Arturo Ruiz’s attack. She hit 11 goals for Granada last season.

The move follows Thursday’s arrival of defender Esther Laborde. Keefe, 22 and from Santiago de Chile, has agreed a contract until 2028.

The club set out to build a squad capable of a European run, and the numbers behind each addition support that aim. Keefe is a mobile forward noted for speed, movement and a sharp eye for goal.

Keefe said joining a club with such history feels like a dream. She added that she is delighted to take this step, proud of her progress and hopeful of meeting targets in the attractive competitions ahead this year.

Real have also added Laura Camino, Ainhoa Marín and Ainoa Campo, alongside Laborde and Keefe, to offset departures of Andreia Jacinto, Claire Lavogez, Lucía Rodríguez, Lucía Pardo and Emma Ramírez.

Ava Seelenfreund, an American striker who played for Torreense last season and scored 12, is still to be announced and would complete a five-strong intake. Ruiz’s side begin pre-season on 14 July, with a Champions League tie scheduled for 26 August.
