Real Sociedad ‘to earn’ 505,000 euros if they beat Chelsea | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have been drawn against Chelsea in the Women’s Champions League qualifying play-off. The Guardian reports that eliminating the London club would be worth 505,000 euros to Real, a formidable task against one of Europe’s elite.

Group-stage earnings also include 60,000 euros per win and 20,000 per draw, plus position prizes that run from 10,000 for last place up to 180,000 for first.

Reaching the groups would put Real among Europe’s best 18. Further progress would raise revenues again, while winning the competition brings another 500,000 euros, a distant prospect for Real even if they advance.

Such sums would significantly lift the women’s section finances. The budget was one million euros in 2019, a record 3.2 million in 2023, and 4,276,278 last season, of which 2,196,879 covered first-team sporting costs. Group qualification equals roughly 11.8% of that total, each group win about 1.4%.

By comparison, third place in Liga F, Real’s finish last term, is estimated at about 342,000 euros in television income.

Champions League income could also open the door to paid transfers. Real have yet to spend fees on signings, while Chelsea have done so repeatedly, including one million euros for Naomi Girma in 2025, 500,000 for Keira Walsh the same year, 450,000 for Mayra Ramírez in 2024 and 350,000 for Pernille Harder in 2020.

Real’s record sale remains Ana Tejada’s 300,000-euro move to Utah Royals shortly before the 2024 Copa de la Reina final.
