Real Sociedad ‘to target’ Plata as Flamengo forward open to talks | OneFootball

AS reports that Real Sociedad have made Gonzalo Plata a priority target this window, with the forward and Flamengo open to hearing proposals.

The Spanish club are assessing the best offer before opening negotiations with Flamengo.

Plata joined Flamengo in 2024 from Al-Saad, with the club paying about R$ 53 million for 100% of his rights. His deal runs until August 2029.

He remains a key figure in attack and scored a notable goal in the Copa do Brasil title win over Atlético-MG at Arena MRV.

His honours with Flamengo include Libertadores and Brasileirão in 2025, two Campeonato Carioca titles in 2025 and 2026, and the Supercopa do Rei in 2025.

Plata has earned the trust of Leonardo Jardim and recently set up Carrascal’s opener in the rout of Mirassol in the Brasileirão.

With Plata available, Flamengo face Cruzeiro on Wednesday 19 in the Libertadores last-16 second leg at the Maracanã, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time.
