Régis Brouard is staying at FC Rouen after agreeing a one-year extension that keeps him in charge for 2026-2027.

The club said in a statement that it was happy to formalise the deal for next season, calling it a sign of stability and continuity. His previous contract was due to expire at the end of the month.

Appointed in November 2024, the 59-year-old guided Rouen to third in National after spending long spells at the top.

He had been weighing up his future following the Ligue 2-National play-off defeat to Laval, which finished 1-1 then 0-1.

A sometimes complex relationship with passionate Turkish owner Tarkan Ser, coupled with uncertain resources, prompted reflection before he delivered his decision in recent hours.
