Reims close to agreement with La Gantoise for Samuel Kotto

According to L'Équipe, Stade de Reims are close to an agreement with La Gantoise to sign Cameroon centre-back Samuel Kotto.

Fresh from the Africa Cup of Nations, where his national team lost 0-2 to Morocco in the quarter-finals, the 22-year-old may not stay long in Belgium.

Seeking to bolster their back line, the Champagne club, currently fourth in Ligue 2, have made a significant bid, around four million euros plus bonuses, to buy out the two and a half years remaining on his contract.

Standing 1.90m, the defender was courted by several clubs this winter.

Kotto came through at Apejes FC in Cameroon, made his name in Sweden with Malmö, then moved to Belgium in January 2025.
