Reims have signed German goalkeeper Tom Ritzy Hülsmann from TSV Hartberg on a five-year deal to 2031, replacing Ewen Jaouen following his move to Newcastle. The club announced the transfer on Monday with a Star Wars-style video.

The 22-year-old came through Bayern Munich’s academy and made 29 appearances for their reserves.

He helped Hartberg finish sixth in the Austrian top flight and was named goalkeeper of the season, keeping 10 clean sheets.

He portrays his style as assertive in interventions, particularly in one-on-ones. He is keen to show supporters his qualities and to aim as high as possible with the team.

Reims will hold an internal match on 8 July, then open pre-season against Charleroi on 11 July.
