Lincoln City FC are reported to have submitted an offer of €3m, including bonuses, to Stade de Reims to secure the services of Oumar Diakité (22), according to reports in Onze Mondial.
With talks progressing well and a deal potentially set to be finalised soon, the Ivorian is said to be on the verge of signing a three-year contract with the Imps.
The move is a blow for Belgian side Cercle Brugge, who were also interested in a permanent transfer for the striker following his loan spell during the 2025-26 season (seven goals and two assists in 26 appearances in all competitions), but saw their €2.5m bid rejected by the Champagne-based club.
An Ivory Coast international (31 caps, six goals), Diakité joined Reims from Red Bull Salzburg for €2.5m in the summer of 2023. Three years on, with his contract running until 2028, the Bingerville-born player could therefore leave France, where he has made 63 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing two assists.
