Rejects Top Club: Bayern Star Kane Makes His Decision

Harry Kane remains one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. But the Bayern Munich forward has apparently already turned down a prominent suitor outright.

The reason for the international attention is obvious: Kane’s contract in Munich runs only until 2027. This has sparked interest among the continent’s major clubs—including FC Barcelona. But the Catalans, of all teams, are said to have been shut down early in their pursuit.

According to the Spanish newspaper *Sport*, Barcelona approached the 32-year-old to find out whether a transfer would be conceivable in principle if they were to make an offer to the German record champions. However, Kane reportedly made it clear that he has no interest in a transfer to the Catalans. According to the report, his response is said to have put all such considerations in Barcelona “on hold.”

Even beyond Barcelona, Kane is not considering leaving Munich. He feels at home at FC Bayern, according to *Sport*. This line of thinking aligns with statements recently heard here in Germany as well: The center forward reportedly has no plans to leave the double winner this summer.

Contract through 2027 – Extension postponed due to World Cup

Despite this commitment, one issue remains unresolved at Säbener Straße. Kane’s contract expires in the summer of 2027, and Bayern Munich is determined to secure the Englishman’s long-term commitment. However, talks have been postponed in light of the World Cup.

The contract term, in particular, could prove tricky. While Bayern Munich reportedly has a two-year extension in mind, Kane is said to be aiming for a four-year contract. With a reported annual salary of over 20 million euros, the striker ranks among the squad’s top earners behind Jamal Musiala—so a new contract would entail significant costs.

Following the rejection, the club’s planning team led by sporting director Deco is apparently reevaluating its options. Julian Álvarez is reportedly the first name under consideration; unlike Kane, he is said to have signaled a willingness to move. However, Atlético Madrid has so far shown no willingness whatsoever to negotiate a transfer for the Argentine.

According to the report, other candidates include Junior Kroupi of AFC Bournemouth, Mikel Oyarzabal of Real Sociedad, Goncalo Ramos of PSG, and Benjamin Sesko of Manchester United. For now, there’s only one message that matters to FC Bayern: Kane wants to stay.
