Burnley have completed the permanent signing of Florentino Luis from Benfica after his season on loan, despite relegation to the Championship. The club announced the deal on Friday.
The move had been anticipated for months, and the obligation to buy in his loan was triggered automatically during the campaign, even as the Clarets were relegated to the Championship.

The Portuguese defensive midfielder, 26, made 33 appearances in all competitions, including 31 in the Premier League.
He started 25 league games and provided two assists, without scoring.
A Benfica academy graduate and former Monaco player, he will now continue at Turf Moor, aiming to help Burnley return to the Premier League.
