According to Globo.com, Remo are close to announcing the signing of left-back Mayk from Grêmio. His loan at Novorizontino, due to run until 10 July, has been ended early and the clubs are exchanging documents.
Mayk is set to sign a two-year contract with Remo, with an option for a further year. Recent discussions have focused on how Novorizontino will be compensated.
Under the existing arrangement, Novorizontino will retain 10% of the player’s economic rights for a future sale, with Grêmio and Guarani splitting the remainder. One party described the agreement as a partnership.
Grêmio had no plans to reintegrate Mayk in Porto Alegre. He could have signed a pre-contract on his return and left on a free, so the club supported the move.
The 26-year-old made 33 appearances for Novorizontino, scoring once and supplying two assists, and was a regular under Enderson Moreira.
Signed from Guarani in February 2024, he played 16 times for Grêmio, recording one assist, with injuries disrupting his continuity.
