A Remo player has been banned for five matches for incidents involving Andreas Pereira and Gustavo Gómez.

Palmeiras and Remo drew 1-1 at Estádio do Mangueirão in the 15th round of the 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro on Sunday 10 May. According to Nosso Palestra, Andreas Pereira suffered lumbar trauma and is undergoing treatment at the club and at home.

After 27 minutes the Remo player was shown a straight red for driving a knee into Pereira’s back off the ball. The midfielder received medical attention and continued.

While leaving the field after the dismissal, the player threw water at Gustavo Gómez.

On Thursday 14 May, the STJD’s 3rd Disciplinary Commission assigned four matches for the knee on Pereira and one for the water thrown at Gómez.
