Rémy Descamps has signed a two-year contract extension with Lyon, keeping the goalkeeper at the club until 2029.
After last Thursday's Coupe de France quarter-final at RC Lens, which finished 2-2 before a 5-4 penalty shootout defeat, he could have played his 12th and final match of the season unless Dominik Greif is suspended or injured. The club said in a statement that it was pleased to continue to benefit from his experience and commitment.
He had been under contract until 2027 and the new agreement adds two more seasons.
The 29-year-old joined from Nantes in 2024.
He has recorded seven clean sheets and made an excellent start to the campaign. That form delayed Dominik Greif's first start until after the first defeat at Rennes, where he injured his hand.
