Rémy Labeau Lascary’s superb overhead kick levels for Brest in Coupe de France

Rémy Labeau Lascary equalised with a superb overhead kick for Brest in Friday’s Coupe de France last-64 tie, despite his team being down to 10 against Avranches of National 2. The goal arrived after Brest had fallen 1-0 behind.

L'Équipe notes that it could be the goal of the night, perhaps even of the round.

Brest were reduced to 10 when their captain on the night, Julien Le Cardinal, was sent off. Avranches then took the lead through Nassim Sabihi.

From a throw-in, Romain Del Castillo found young midfielder Hamidou Makalou, who returned the ball to him. Del Castillo then crossed with the outside of his left foot towards Labeau Lascary.

The striker on loan from Lens, with his back to goal, beat the Avranches goalkeeper with a deft left-footed acrobatic strike for Éric Roy’s side.
