Renato was officially announced on Monday for a fifth spell. He has a contract until December, with the priority to steer Grêmio away from the drop. The team sit 16th, right on the edge of the relegation zone.

He will be on the bench on Wednesday against Botafogo. On the match sheet, Luiz Felipe Scolari, now the coordinator, will be listed as head coach, and the pair will work together on the touchline.

Renato’s first game regarded as his official start is on Sunday at the Arena against Palmeiras. Grêmio also have a Copa do Brasil semi-final against Atlético-MG in early November.
