Arsenal are not looking to dismiss manager Renée Slegers despite a slow start to the 2026/27 season.

The Gunners have won just one of their opening five matches in the WSL which sees them ninth in the table, one point behind newly-promoted Crystal Palace and already 10 points behind top-of-the-league Manchester City.

Arsenal had looked bright at times in their 4-2 defeat away to the champions on Sunday and were leading 2-1 with an hour gone before a late fightback from the hosts turned the game around.

That poor start had led to speculation over the future of Slegers however, according to the ever-reliable Emma Sanders of BBC Sport, the club still retains full backing in the manager who led the club to Champions League glory back in 2025.

However, it will be important for Arsenal to pick up the pace after the international break and they have the perfect fixture to do that when they host winless Birmingham City on October 17th.
