Stade Rennais are reportedly very close to securing the signature of ESTAC Troyes’ Nicolas Lemaître (29), according to Ouest-France.

So much so that the Reims-born player is said to have already undergone the first part of his medical this Friday. Under contract with the Ligue 2 champions until 2028, Lemaître is set to join Rennes as the backup for Brice Samba (32), who is currently at the World Cup with France and is expected to retain his place in the starting line-up next season.

The young Mathys Silistrie (20), who made three appearances in the red and black during the 2025–26 season, is expected to go out on loan to gain more experience.

A first-choice goalkeeper for Troyes last summer (four clean sheets and nine goals conceded in 10 matches), Lemaître was forced to step away from the pitch after suffering a cruciate ligament tear at the end of October.
