Stade Rennais hold an interest in Fenerbahce playmaker Sebastien Szymanski (26), according to a report from L’ÉquipeHowever, contrary to reports elsewhere, no offer has yet been submitted by the Breton club.

It will be a crucial second half of the season for Rennes. Habib Beye has already confirmed that it is Europe or bust in terms of his future; failure to qualify for European competition again will cost him his job, and given the continued investment in the club, it is a minimum requirement.

Strengthening the squad during the current transfer window is seen as a means to help them achieve that result and Szymanski has now emerged as a target. The playmaker has 50 caps for Poland; he has scored six goals during that time.

This season, he has made 25 appearances for Fenerbahce in all competitions, scoring twice and registering two assists. His contract with the Turkish club runs until 2027.
