Rennes head coach Habib Beye has decided to drop Ludovic Blas and Seko Fofana for tonight’s last-chance game against Toulouse as an apparent show of managerial force. The former Senegal international’s Rennes job is reportedly hanging by a thread. On Monday, Beye was reportedly told to pack it in and leave after a dire run of results with Rennes winless in their last five games, the latter a deflating home loss against a half-fit Nice side.

But Beye was given a second chance and the opportunity to lead Renes for tonight’s mid-week away game against Toulouse. But a disappointing performance would surely mean the end of Beye’s tenure at Roazhon Park. The former Newcastle full-back said that the club executives “know that I have the energy and the ability to make this team win tomorrow.”

With his job on the line, Beye has decided that Rennes would have a better shot at a win without Blas and Fofana. The two players didn’t make the matchday squad, although neither of them is injured. They made this point clear in posting a similar pic this morning of the team’s empty training ground.
