Stade Rennais manager Habib Beye has said that he doesn’t “feel in danger”, despite continued speculation about his job security at the Breton club.

Rennes currently sit ninth in Ligue 1 with 11 points. However, the Breton club have drawn each of their last four league games. Those draws have come against Auxerre, Le Havre AC, RC Lens, and FC Nantes. Three of those teams hover around the relegation zone, and the draw against Lens came despite Jonathan Gradit’s red card in the 1st minute.

Foot Mercato understands that Rennes’ hierarchy are increasingly displeased with the situation and, in front of the new president of the club’s administrative council, Guillaume Cerutti, they did not enjoy Sunday’s draw against Auxerre.

Since that game, former Juventus manager Thiago Motta and former AS Monaco and Glasgow Rangers manager Philippe Clement have both been linked with the role. However, speaking ahead of Sunday’s match against OGC Nice, Beye insisted that he doesn’t feel threatened.

“At the moment, I don’t feel in danger, in the sense that I am doing my job with an immense passion. I am very happy with what my team is showing, especially by analysing the game. I don’t ask myself whether I am more or less threatened compared to last week. It is part of the job,” said Beye in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
