Rennes to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Naouirou Ahamada on loan

Rennes are poised to complete a deadline day loan move for Crystal Palace midfielder Naouirou Ahamada (22), according to Le Parisien’s Benjamin Quarez. Rennes were in the market for a central midfielder on the back of club legend Benjamin Bourigeaud’s move to Al-Duhail. Ahamada is set to complete a medical with Les Bretons this Friday. L’Equipe understands that Ahamada’s loan move to Rennes includes a €8m to make his move permanent.

Ahamada is set to be loaned out to Rennes for the remainder of the season. Stade Rennais also entertained the possibility of signing out-of-favour Marseille midfielder Jordan Veretout, but Rennes were priced out of a move for the France international.

Ahamada joined Crystal Palace from VfB Stuttgart in a €12m deal in January 2023. He only featured 31 times for the Eagles and is yet to play a single minute for Oliver Glasner’s side this season.
