Renzo Saravia is set to become a Valencia player in the coming hours, if nothing goes wrong, on a deal to the end of the season.
According to AS, the Argentine right-back could arrive on Friday, with the club aiming to finalise the move after a medical.
Following Dimitri Foulquier’s serious injury, Valencia moved for a right-back, with Saravia their first choice. He has accepted a short-term agreement and will take Foulquier’s squad place.
As a free agent he can be registered immediately. His last match was on 7 December for Atlético Mineiro and he has been without a club since, so he will work towards full fitness.
The 32-year-old has nine Argentina caps and previously had a brief spell in Europe with Oporto in 2019-20. He has also played for Belgrano and Racing de Avellaneda in Argentina, and Internacional, Botafogo and Atlético Mineiro in Brazil.
