Douglas Luiz has given the green light to join Chelsea and is ready to move to London according to reports in Italy.
Chelsea were expected to be quiet this month, but their plans have changed and they are now looking to bring in a centre back and midfielder.
The Blues have identified Rennes star Jeremy Jacquet as their prime target at centre back, whilst they are looking for a short term solution in midfield.
The injury issues of Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo have left Chelsea with three fit midfielders in Enzo Fernandez, Andrey Santos and Moises Caicedo.
Reece James has been deployed in midfield on a number of occasions this season, but the Blues have identified the need for some short term cover.

Chelsea are said be considering a loan move for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz, who’s currently on loan at Nottingham Forest.
The Blues have reportedly made an approach for Luiz, but as of yet no offer has been made, and his current loan with Forest needs to be terminated.
However, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport Luiz has said yes to joining Chelsea, but there are also other clubs interested.
The report adds former club Aston Villa are interested, whilst Ajax made an enquiry over a loan move a couple of weeks ago, but further contact is expected with Chelsea this weekend.
Whilst Chelsea are looking for a short term solution this month, a new midfielder is said to be a priority in the summer.

Chelsea are looking to ease the burden on Fernandez and Caicedo, and have been linked with Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton.
Whether the Blues land either of those players remains to be seen, but given Lavia’s injury issues he seemingly can’t be relied upon.
