The January window is fast approaching, but it’s believed Chelsea aren’t going to be very active in the window, but things can change quickly.

Chelsea prepared to offer €45m for Ayyoub Bouaddi

Whilst there might not be many first team signings in January, the Blues are always on the lookout for the stars of the future.

Chelsea have already agreed a deal for 16-year-old centre back Deinner Ordonez, and it looks like another teenager is on their radar.

RMC Sport have reported the Blues are prepared to offer €45m in January for 18-year-old Lille star Bouaddi, with Arsenal also said to be interested.

The report adds PSG as well as both Manchester clubs and Liverpool are keeping an eye on the situation, but it’s going to take more than €50m to sign the teenager, who’s extended his contract until 2029.

The France under-21 international has made 18 appearances in all competitions, and is an important of the Lille side who sit fourth in Ligue 1.

Planning to move on from Romeo Lavia?

Chelsea are well stacked in midfield and have a plethora of options to choose from, so their reported interest in Bouaddi could mean they are planning to make a sale in that department in the summer.

The most likely candidate would be Romeo Lavia, who has really struggled with injuries since arriving from Southampton in 2023.

The midfielder is in his third season at Stamford Bridge, but has only managed 30 appearances, and is currently on the sidelines having picked up another injury last month.

Maresca has worryingly confirmed he doesn’t know when Lavia will be back, and it’s such a shame as he’s got so much quality and makes a big difference to Chelsea when he’s fit and available.
