Cristian Chivu will reportedly rotate Inter Milan’s squad as coach more than Simone Inzaghi did over the last four seasons.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

In the last four seasons, Inter have tended to play with a fairly predictable starting eleven.

Particularly in the big matches, Simone Inzaghi has always known which players he trusts the most.

Sometimes injuries would force the former Lazio coach to make changes. Or the regular starters would need a rest from time to time.

However, there has been a sense that Inzaghi has never fully trusted a lot of the backups.

This has partially been because the departed coach had such a well-oiled mechanism in place. The players who regularly started could execute his instructions to the letter.

However, there has also been the persistent feeling that Inzaghi didn’t consider the players not in the first-choice eleven to be up to the task.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Chivu will take a different approach than Inzaghi did. And this will have a lot to do with the club’s approach in the transfer window.

Inter have signed Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Ange-Yoan Bonny, and Andy Diouf this summer. Furthermore, and just as a significantly, the Nerazzurri have also made Francesco Pio Esposito a first-team squad member.

Of these five players, only Sucic looks like he’ll come straight into Inter’s starting eleven.

However, the Corriere reports, the other four will still play fairly regularly. Chivu is not just going to rely on them as a last resort.

Furthermore, the fact that all these players are in their early twenties is a significant factor.

The pressure is not on any of Inter’s summer arrivals to deliver right away. Rather, Chivu is expecting them to win his trust and stake more of a claim in the lineup over the next few months.
