Multiple sources confirm this evening that Niccolò Fortini has chosen Torino as his next destination rather than Hull City, joining from Fiorentina on loan with option to buy.
The negotiations had been going on for a couple of months with the Granata, who had originally hoped to buy the young Italian outright for circa €5m.
However, when that was rejected and interest came in from Hull City, it was decided to go for a change of formula in this transfer.

Instead, Fiorentina will extend his current contract, which is due to expire at the end of this season, and let him leave on loan with option to buy.
According to Sportitalia, Sky Sport Italia, Fabrizio Romano and more, both Torino and Hull City had provided practically identical offers, so Fiorentina left the decision up to the player.
Fortini, who turned 20 in February and is a product of the Viola youth academy, had no hesitation in picking Torino.
He has represented Italy at various youth levels and plays as a left-back or a right-back.
The total cost of the operation is expected to fall at around €8m plus €2m in add-ons.
