Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez is not the only candidate to replace the outgoing Yann Sommer at Inter Milan.

According to Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri are also monitoring several other goalkeepers.

Yann Sommer has entered the final six months of his contract at San Siro, with Inter unwilling to offer him a new deal.

Therefore, the 37-year-old is likely to leave the club as a free agent in June, forcing Beppe Marotta to search for a replacement.

Emiliano Martinez remains the likeliest option for Inter.

Furthermore, Inter’s first meeting with the player’s agent inspired confidence, boosting hopes of a swift agreement.

Despite being 33, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner offers a safe pair of gloves and could be a decent coup for the Nerazzurri.

However, Martinez’s age remains one of the main stumbling blocks, along with his €5 million annual salary.
