Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly ‘dreaming’ of bringing Manchester City megastar Gianluigi Donnarumma back to San Siro.

According to Quotidiano Sportivo via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri are keen to sign the former AC Milan goalkeeper in the summer.

With starting shot-stopper Yann Sommer expected to leave the club at the end of the season, Inter are searching for a suitable replacement.

Therefore, they have recently opened talks with Aston Villa stalwart Emiliano Martinez, who could be a decent short-term option.

However, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner is not the club’s top target.

At 33, Martinez would only be a stopgap solution for the Nerazzurri.

Furthermore, his €5 million annual salary doesn’t fit Inter’s new transfer policy, meaning he’d likely have to take a pay cut to facilitate the transfer.

On the other hand, the Serie A pacesetters would reportedly be ready to break the bank to lure Donnarumma back to San Siro.

However, it’s worth noting that one of the world’s best goalkeepers earns a whopping €15 million net per season at the Etihad Stadium.
