Report: Jürgen Klopp plans Germany call-up for Said El Mala | OneFootball

Said El Mala could be in line for his senior Germany debut next month.

According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, new Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp plans to include the 20-year-old winger in his squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures in September and October.

Klopp is said to see a lot of potential in El Mala and wants to support the youngster from the very beginning of his tenure as Germany coach.

The call-up would mark a major step in El Mala's rapidly developing career. The Köln winger was already on the radar of former Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann, but he has yet to make his senior debut. He has represented Germany at U18, U19 and U21 level.

El Mala has also made an impressive start to the new Bundesliga season. He scored in Köln's 3-2 victory over Hoffenheim on Saturday, continuing the strong form that has made him one of the most exciting young players in German football.

Klopp's first Germany squad is scheduled to be announced on September 17, with the new head coach set to begin his tenure with four Nations League matches. Germany will face the Netherlands on September 24, Greece on September 27, Serbia on October 1 and Greece again on October 4.
