Report Maldini licence confiscated after breathalyser test and car accident | OneFootball

According to news agency ANSA, Cagliari forward Daniel Maldini failed a breathalyser test after his car accident, so his driving licence was confiscated.

The Italy international had played and converted the winning penalty in last night’s 2-1 Serie A victory away to Atalanta in Bergamo.

In the early hours of this morning, he was driving his Porsche Carrera in Milan when he was involved in an accident.

His lawyer Danilo Buongiorno assures that he was checked over in the A&E before being released and returned to his home.

“Daniel is fine and has no injury or lesion,” insisted the lawyer.

However, news agency ANSA claim this afternoon that Maldini tested positive for alcohol after a breathalyser test.

It is reported his first test was 0.91mg/l and the second was 0.89mg/l, very marginally above the legal limit in Italy, which is 0.8mg/l.

This means the local police confiscated his driver’s licence, awaiting further more specific blood tests performed at the hospital when he was being checked over, which will also look for any other substances.

Daniel is the son of Milan and Italy legend Paolo Maldini and turns 25 next month.
