Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al-Hilal have reportedly set their sights on Inter Milan center-back Francesco Acerbi.

According to Sport Mediaset, Simone Inzaghi is eager to lure his former associate to Riyadh at the end of the season.

Francesco Acerbi could be counting his final months at San Siro, with his contract expiring next June.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri are seemingly unwilling to extend the 37-year-old’s deal due to his age.

However, the Italian veteran continues to attract interest despite entering the autumn of his playing career.

Acerbi has been in and out of Inter’s starting lineup under Cristian Chivu this season.

Yet, he had been indispensable under Inzaghi, establishing himself as a key cog in Inter’s backline.

With that in mind, it’s hardly surprising that the former Nerazzurri boss wants to bring Acerbi to Al-Hilal.

Furthermore, a move to one of the world’s wealthiest clubs makes perfect sense for the former Lazio ace.

Indeed, he’s probably one lucrative contract away from securing his final major payday before hanging up his boots.
