Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle are among the clubs interested in a January move for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi.

Disasi is part of the infamous “bomb” squad at Chelsea, after he failed to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The Frenchman spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, and Disasi reportedly turned down a number of offers on deadline day.

Newcastle amongst clubs interested in Axel Disasi

There had been reports Disasi might be reintegrated into the first team picture, after he was spotted in training during the international break last month.

Enzo Maresca has confirmed on several occasions there’s no way back for Disasi, and it will be interesting to see what happens in January.

Lyon are said to be in talks with Disasi, who’s been playing for the Chelsea under-21s in order to keep some level of match fitness.

However, it appears Lyon aren’t the only side interested, and Caught Offside have reported Dortmund and Newcastle are among the clubs interested.

The report states West Ham, Galatasaray, and Juventus are also interested, whilst Disasi is currently under contract until 2029.

A loan move appears most likely, and Chelsea just need the 27-year-old playing regularly in an attempt to boost his value ahead of a permanent exit next summer.

Chelsea unlikely to move for Murillo

It looks unlikely a centre back will arrive in January, whilst the Blues could add Aaron Anselmino and Mamadou Sarr to their defensive options next summer, with the duo impressing out on loan so far this season.

The Blues have held long standing interest in Murillo, but according to The Athletic he’s no longer on Chelsea’s radar.

It appears Chelsea will stick with their current defensive options until next summer, and then reassess at that point, but you can’t escape the fact the centre back department needs to be revamped.
