Wolves Transfer News: Amario Cozier-Duberry Race Heats Up Amid West Ham Interest

Wolves are in the market for attacking depth and Amario Cozier-Duberry has moved firmly into view. According to TeamTalk, Wolves are exploring a deal for the Brighton winger, though West Ham are in the same conversation and Rangers have already tested the water.

The basics are clear. Brighton value the 21-year-old at £10million and have already turned down a £7million bid from Rangers. That tells you two things straight away. First, Brighton think there is real upside here. Second, any club hoping to haggle their way to a discount is wasting time.

Cozier-Duberry is not a random punt. He “impressed on loan with Bolton Wanderers last season, contributing nine goals and 13 assists as Bolton secured promotion from League One via the play-offs.” Those are serious numbers for a wide player. Add in Championship experience at Blackburn Rovers in 2024/25 and there is at least a working case that he is ready for the next step.

Amario Cozier-Duberry Fits Clear Wolves Need

TeamTalk reports that Wolves “view the 21-year-old as a potential reinforcement in a key area” and that they “have begun assessing the conditions of a deal.” That sounds like sensible groundwork rather than empty noise. Wolves need more directness, more end product and more players who can attack from either side. Cozier-Duberry appears to tick each box.

At Brighton, the picture is less straightforward. He has “featured regularly in pre-season under head coach Fabian Hürzeler but has yet to force his way into the first-team picture for competitive fixtures.” That matters. Brighton are stacked in wide areas and, with “further European commitments on the horizon”, the club still seem open to a sale if someone meets the number.

Brighton Valuation Leaves No Room for Doubt

There is no mystery over the asking price. “Brighton have set their valuation at £10million.” Again, blunt and simple. Rangers learned that the hard way, and now “are considering other targets before deciding whether to return with an improved bid.” If Wolves or West Ham want to win this race, they will probably need to move cleanly and move now.

West Ham’s interest is easy to understand too. TeamTalk says their enquiries reflect “a desire to inject pace and goal threat into their squad.” Same issue, different club. This is what happens when a young attacker posts production and still sits outside the established first-team picture at a Premier League side. The queue forms quickly.

Our View

From a Wolves perspective, this feels like the sort of move worth making. Not because Cozier-Duberry is guaranteed to explode, but because the profile makes sense. He is young, productive, flexible and available at a fee that is meaningful without being absurd. £10million is still real money for Wolves, but in this market it is hardly outrageous for a player with upside.

The appealing part is the balance of risk. If Wolves are shopping smartly, they should be targeting players exactly like this, lads who have shown end product, have development left in them and are not arriving with inflated reputations built on very little. Nine goals and 13 assists is output. It may have come in League One, but you do not ignore output.

There is also a broader point. Wolves too often look a little short of invention and a little too predictable in wide areas when injuries hit or form drops. A direct winger who can beat a man and create panic has value, even if he starts as a squad option. If Brighton are genuinely willing to sell, this is one to take seriously. West Ham hovering around only adds urgency. If Wolves believe the player can grow into a proper Premier League weapon, then stop circling and get on with it.
