The Stadio Olimpico is not sold out for tonight’s Nations League game between Italy and Belgium, with circa 40,000 fans expected in the stands.

About 40,000 fans will attend tonight’s Nations League match between Italy and Belgium.

This game marks the Azzurri’s debut in the 2026-27 Nations League and the first match of Roberto Mancini’s second tenure as head coach of La Nazionale.

The FIGC confirmed on Wednesday that 32,000 tickets had been sold for the game at the Olimpico, and according to the latest reports today, including from Sport Mediaset and Sky, the attendance figure has risen to nearly 40,000 in recent hours.

“Considering where we are starting from and the final results, it seems to me objectively an excellent result,” FIGC President Giovanni Malagò said on Friday morning.

“Yesterday they told me that a record was set in terms of income. It seems to me that this is not the problem, but it is a positive thing”.

The Olimpico, home to Serie A sides Roma and Lazio, has a maximum capacity of circa 70,000.

Italy have been placed in the Nations League Group A1 alongside Belgium, France and Turkey.

The Azzurri will play four games during the current break, facing Belgium and France once and Vincenzo Montella’s Turkey at home and away.

Italy will be aiming to avoid a fourth-place finish, not just to avoid potential relegation to the second division, but also to be among the seeded teams in the Euro 2028 qualifying draw.
