The Daily Star says Ronaldo had the chance to buy two different English clubs but opted against investing after deeming them too expensive.
Instead, the retired former Real Madrid forward invested in Spanish side Real Valladolid, becoming owner in 2018, and he is now the club's president.
Prior to investing in the LaLiga2 side, however, Ronaldo was contacted by both Brentford and Charlton Athletic about putting funds into the club in return for a share of the ownership.
However, he was put off by the higher prices to purchase a stake in English clubs compared to teams in Spain such as Valladolid.
