Tottenham have agreed to sell Anthony Georgiou to AEL Limassol on a permanent deal, Football Insider can reveal.

The 23-year-old midfielder is leaving the north Londoners after eight years ahead of his contract expiring in the summer.

A Tottenham source has Football Insider that Georgiou has agreed personal term with Limassol and the club have accepted an offer for him to be transferred.

The Cyprus international is now heading out of White Hart Lane and the move is set to be announced within days.

The Londoners then gave Georgiou permission to leave after an offer was tabled by the Cypriot outfit.

Georgiou has been unable to make any headway in the extremely competitive pecking order for wide midfield places at Tottenham.

He has made just one senior appearance for the club, which came in the Champions League in 2017 when Mauricio Pochettino was manager.

Spurs handed the international a new contract in 2019 but Georgiou has been unable to add to that single first-team showing.

With his deal expiring in the summer, his focus has been on securing a move to a club where he can play regular senior football.

This comes after loan spells at Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers last season did not go as well as he hoped.

The eight-times international, who joined Spurs in 2013 from the Watford academy, also previously had a loan spell at Levante in Spain.
