Rhys Chadwick was on the scoresheet as Leeds United Under-21s returned to Premier League 2 action with a win against Reading Under-21s.

The midfielder’s second half strike, alongside a Harry Gray finish moments prior, propelled the Whites to victory over the Royals, leaving the goalscorer thrilled with his team’s display.

“I thought it was an enjoyable match,” Chadwick told LUTV after the full-time whistle on a bitterly cold afternoon in Berkshire.

“It was a match that we had to fight for and a very scrappy first half but we decided to keep our cool and play our football and it worked out in the end.

“It was a great ball from Jacob and I just had to keep my cool,” the 18-year-old added, discussing netting for a second time in three PL2 matches.

“I could hear people shouting ‘use your body!’ so I decided to get in front of him. When I saw the goal, I thought keep it calm and slide it in the corner.

“I loved being back out there. Games are what I play for and, yeah, it was really enjoyable – especially to come back and score.

“I hope we carry on this form and carry on fighting for each other and hopefully more wins and a couple more goals from me from here.”
