Record reports that Benfica and Al Ittihad exchanged paperwork overnight, clearing a loan for Richard Ríos until the end of the season with no purchase option. The move is a paid deal worth 3 million euros to Benfica.
Ríos did not take part in Marco Silva's training session on Wednesday and is due to travel to Saudi Arabia later today.
The Colombian midfielder has not secured a place in the starting side and did not feature in the last two games, against Aarhus and Estoril.
Al Ittihad will assume his wages, easing Benfica's costs, and his salary will be significantly higher. After initial hesitation, he has now accepted the move.
Signed from Palmeiras last summer for 27 million euros, Ríos leaves the Luz on a temporary basis after a debut campaign of 45 games, eight goals and six assists.
