Richard Ríos ‘to join’ Al-Ittihad on loan from Benfica | OneFootball

CNN Portugal reports that Benfica midfielder Richard Ríos is close to joining Al-Ittihad on loan for a fee of three to four million euros, with no option to buy.

The Colombian has struggled for starts under Marco Silva and his limited minutes could accelerate an exit.

The Saudi club are now trying to persuade the 27-year-old, and Benfica hope to finalise a move before the window closes.

Ríos has slipped down the pecking order and been used mainly from the bench, and he is receptive to a departure. A switch to the Middle East will happen.

He joined Benfica a year ago from Palmeiras for 27 million euros. In his debut campaign he delivered eight goals and six assists in 45 games, 27 in the league, 12 in the Champions League, three in the Portuguese Cup, two in the League Cup and one in the Super Cup. This season he has six appearances.
