FLW's Middlesbrough fan pundit reveals Ipswich Town's Jack Clarke would be their dream addition before the end of the window

Middlesbrough have had a wonderful summer window, and you would do well to find many who would disagree with that statement, but Kim Hellberg may not be done putting the final touches on his squad just yet.

Middlesbrough have completed deals for nine players this summer so far, and are in the process of finalising their tenth, but don't look ready to stop just yet with days of the window remaining.

The likes of Will Lankshear, Ashley Phillips, and Radek Vitek have penned potentially lucrative permanent deals on Teesside, whilst Jeremy Sarmiento has signed a permanent deal following his loan spell from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Max Arfsten, Sebastian Berhalter, Sam Byram, Myles Peart-Harris, and Kyle Joseph have each also made the move to Teesside, as Boro are in the process of finalising a deal for American-Lithuanian midfielder Rokas Pukstas from Hajduk Split.

With permanent signings galore, the loan market remains an untouched area for Hellberg's side this window, something which those at the club will hope to change very soon.

Football League World's Middlesbrough fan pundit, Liam Day, has shared their thoughts on who their dream signing before the end of the window would be, and has name-dropped someone who has been linked with a move to Teesside in recent days.

Liam told FLW: "I think just because he's been linked and can somewhat be seen as maybe a small little option, I think Jack Clarke would be my dream signing before the end of the window.

"I think he's skilful, I think he's one of the best players in the Championship whenever he's in it, and I really hope Boro can try and get that one done.

"Do I think it's realistic? Probably not. I think Ipswich will keep hold of him. And even if he did go out on loan, you'd have half the Championship after him. So it wouldn't be an easy one for Boro to get done.

"But you know, we've seen weirder transfers, we've seen crazier transfers, and I hope it's one that we can get done, because it's in a position we very desperately need.

"I think it'd be a ridiculous signing for any Championship team."

According to Alan Nixon via Patreon, Middlesbrough are interested in a deal to bring Ipswich's Clarke in on loan this summer, but their task of doing so doesn't appear to be an easy one.

East Anglian Daily Times' Stuart Watson has recently reported that Clarke, as well as team-mate Kasey McAteer, are set to stay at the club beyond the summer window, crushing Boro's hopes.

The former Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur winger netted the winner on the opening day of the Premier League season for the Tractor Boys against another one of his former clubs in the form of Sunderland.

Ipswich has an abundance of attacking talent to choose from, with the likes of Daizen Maeda, Emersonn, Marcelino Nunez, Anis Mehmeti, Jaden Philogene, Kasey McAteer, Sindre Walle Egeli, Julio Enciso, Abdul Fatawu, and Chuba Akpom, as well as Clarke, all vying for a place in Gary O'Neil's side this campaign.

An exit initially seemed like a real possibility, but now, Boro must move on to other targets and may revisit a move for Leicester City's Stephy Mavididi, with their interest in the Foxes wide man first revealed exclusively by Football League World.

Football League World's Sheffield United fan pundit and host of the Blades Ramble, Jimmy, has previously admitted he would love to see Clarke at Bramall Lane this season, but those hopes, along with Middlesbrough's, have been swiftly dashed.

With a deal for Clarke seemingly scuppered, Boro will likely move onto other targets instead of ending their pursuit of attacking reinforcements altogether.

Brighton and Hove Albion's Amario Cozier-Duberry has been linked with a loan switch as well, but numerous Championship and European clubs are reportedly in for his signature alongside Boro, as that deal is far from certain.

Hellberg will be keen on adding another option in the final third one way or another, and though that may not be Clarke, it's set to be an exciting end to a brilliant summer for Middlesbrough.
