According to SuperDepor.com, River Plate have added David Trezeguet to their institutional structure, tasking the former striker and France 1998 World Cup winner with representation and strategic ties. Trezeguet, who featured in the campaign that took River back to the top flight, will take on a non-sporting post.

The move is intended to strengthen the club’s profile and positioning at home and abroad. The presentation was led by president Stefano Di Carlo.

He will work across the Institutional, Marketing and Commercial departments, coordinating efforts to create new opportunities for development and expansion.

His brief includes promoting agreements with companies, organisations and sports bodies, collaborating on sponsor activities, and representing River at institutional events.

He will also help forge relationships across the wider sports industry, drawing on prior experience in institutional representation roles at European clubs.
